“Oh, so you’re a fast talker?”
That is the most common response I get when I answer the question, “What do you do?”
As a state and Regional auctioneering champion I do take pride in my auction “chant” but there is so much more to this business than fast talking.
Auctioneers are masters at creating excitement and energy. The number one reason people attend auctions is because they are FUN. Every auction creates a different environment but regardless of what is being sold the opportunity always presents itself to interact on a personal level with the bidders. Auctions are the most efficient and exciting way to sell virtually any item and convert assets into cash.
This is the reason many of the nation’s largest fundraising events are auctions. And most record breaking sales of automobiles or art work happen at auction as well. With a focused pre-sale advertising campaign, or an expertly cultivated guest list and the excitement of the auctioneers chant you have a perfect combination for aggressive, competitive bidding.
Auctions offer a timely sale of any item! Whether you’re selling antique furniture, works of art, Real Estate or classic cars you know the date of the sale. A date is set, and the planning begins! There is no more waiting and wondering. You don’t have answer another phone call in response to an ad you posted in the newspaper or on Craig’s List.
The truth is Auctioneers are a lot less “fast talkers” than we are “problem solvers”. You need to raise money for a great cause? We can do that. You need to sell your Real Estate but are tired of the short notice showings appointments and the slow market? We can do that. You want to get the best price for the piece of artwork you found in Grandma’s attic? We can do that too!
As you can see we do so much more than simply talk fast.
